I never thought I'd see the Northern Lights here in Chicagoland of all places like many, it has been a dream of mine to see this. I didn't expect to see anything due to the cloud cover and wasn't prepared: it was 2:45 in the morning of Saturday the 11th, it was wet and cold, I was half-awake standing in my underwear on my deck, and I couldn't find my tripod so the camera had to be literally propped against my grill...but I just couldn't let this slip by. This photo is one I took in september 2023. On this night I captured quite a few different photos and perspectives of the milky way over and around the bridge. My goal on this evening was to take full advantage of the position of the milky way as there are very few opportunities that you can photograph the milky way positioned near the bridge during the year. I found this photo with other ones from that night I had not edited. Astro photography needs conditions to be right in relation to moon,
